My life has been shaped by the consequences of migration, diaspora and globalization. I come from a multicultural background, meaning that my life has been strongly influenced by more than one culture and struggle between them trying to define myself. I wanted to see if I was able to create something in between the two worlds I grew up. Inspired on Sakura flowers and Orchids, the Kimono and La Pollera, Nostalgia, memories, longing for roots, myths and stories from the fatherland land, endless desire to connect with lost origins.

I incorporated real photos of Sakuras and Orchids, and made them into flowers that are stitched into the dresses. For me photography was the perfect way to describe my source of inspiration. In my opinion a photograph captures all of these feelings.

The concept of recreating and reinterpretation from multiple worldviews are shown by the way I make the flowers out of photographs and not by deconstructing the traditional costumes and making my own. This is how I materialized memories.
